Hi All,
I'm thinking of a new set of pipes and big air intake for my 07 Heritage, does anyone out there have any good luck or bad luck stories about the V+H Fuel Pack that they sell? I like the idea that I can install the pipes and air boxand get the ECM set up (with the Fuel Pack) without getting HD service involved. Is it as easy as they make it sound? I'm not looking for every little bit of horsepower that I'd probably get if it was dyno tuned I just want it to run good and hopefully not kill my gas mileage...I know I just want it all!
Thanks

Thanks...I tried that before I posted, but alas I spelled it fuelpack instead of fuelpak. Anyway there are just as many people who like the fuelpak as dislike it. So I guess it is somewhat of a gamble. I'll probably buy V+N pipes, SE air kit and the fuelpak and give them a try...what the hell its only money!
I have no experience with the Fuel pak, but I do have the I download kit that came with SE's that were on the bike when I bought it from the dealer. Originally, I thought the SE's were nice, but something was just a'miss. Almost half HD like. After scouraging for months, I discovered that the real issue I was having was the sound and the overall feel for the power that was supposed to be the 96.
I bought the V&H BSL's, but had the dealer install them. Wanted no worries there, but at an installationcost of $200.
OMG. What a difference, brand new bike. The V&H BSL's are almost rediculous in terms of sound, feel and overall attitude to the bike, almost too much. It feels like a rocket ship riding on the exhaust. Eliminates all engine and tranny mechanical noise. I'm thinking about the quiet baffles now. Fuel Pak, not sure what that is for, but with the Stage I and the dealer tuning as part of installation, I would suggest that if you want more than what the pipes bring, go for the 103. Sheesh.
But beware, those BSL's on the 96 are almost embarrassingly loud.Totally sick. I love them, but my head is pounding at night, and the hearing I have left from the 80's is at serious risk.
I had the dealer install V&H BSS , stage 1 and fuel pak on my 07 and SmokinEd is correct. It was loud. Just installed quiet baffles last week and is much better. Gets rid of tinny sound at idle, still loud on accell and gained lower end torque.Fuel pak has been fine for me...I might get a pop 1-2 times a week between shifts...no biggy.
I put V&H Big Shot, fuel pack and Big Sucker air cleaner on my 07 Fatboy. I bet it picked up 20 hp from the install. Pipes are a bit loud but performance is excellent. It runs cooler also.
