I would like to buy a set of bags for my Heritage. Viking makes a lot of bags. I'm looking foe something that's a perfect fit as the stock ones, not too big and not too small. I have a rear crash bar which might make a difference. Any suggestions or experience would be a help.
There is no question. The perfect aftermarket bag is Leatherworks LW 110 and you can buy it from Great Bike Gear. And the mounting system is Easy Brackets. That is an awesome setup.
Coming from a few local guys the Viking gear isn't the best bag out there. I've seen pretty shoddy workmanship and low quality in their products.
Obviously Great Bike Gear is going to pitch a product they sell. Personally I'm not a fan of that Ghost Bracket, do some research on it, lot of problems in the past, but maybe they worked it out.
If you're seriously looking for a quality top notch bag, with the best mounting system on the market then you're looking for www.leatherpros.com I had their Retro bags on my Dyna, and theres
many guys in here that run that bag and others from them. Don't hesitate to spend a little more money up front, you're going to get what you pay for when it comes an LP product. The very best.

I had the Leatherpro's LP3280 on my Deluxe when I had the original pipes on. Excellent quality. Before I purchased I asked if I could tour the factory and did just that. The tour had me order a set the same day.
I have the Harley Deluxe saddlebags on both my Heritage and Deluxe. Well make, lockable and a good amount of storage. No complaints and I have had them for 5+ years on both bikes. Ron
Great Bike Gear Easy Brackets are not the same as Ghost Brackets or Edge Brackets. Easy Brackets are a one-piece system developed for your year, make and model and use of backrest or none. The kit comes with all hardware needed for a quick, clean installation.
Boss Bags IMO
I ended up with the 37 Springer style (fit 37 12oz cans per bag for a size reference), their brackets are very strong and 1 minute to remove or replace both bags with no tools. Picture is on my signature, more in Albums.
Ive had the HD bags (too small and dont fit as close), Osprey "box top lids using Easy brackets and then for the past 10 yr the Boss bags. there are pictures in my "album"
Ive seen them all and Leatherpro's are the best all around bang for the buck. Service is awesome as well. Lockem to the bike and lock the lids. I had them on my old FXDL and have the deluxe bags on my deluxe. You still can use your quick release system from HD for the sissybar. By the way, Gary the owner of Leatherpro's is the brother of the Bossbags guy. He improved on the original.
dont know your year but factory bags for my 02 heritage are $650 for the pair. add on $150 for bareback brand quick release hardware for use with either detachable or not backrest
