So my electrician friend hasn't been able to make it over yet and the weather is starting to get nicer so I'm antsy. Other than testing continuity what else should I be testing in the switches, housing, or wiring? It was a pain to pull the wires through the bars so I don't want to pull them back out unless I can confirm that the problem is in that wiring.

Ummmm. He said he pulled the wires through, soooooooooo, I'd say they ARE internally wired....

So, the bike runs, just no horn or signals. If ya get really antsy, ride it anyway.

What bike & year? If it’s a can bus, the wires are, +, - , and two data wires. I’d run continuity for each wire from the handle bar module to whoever they finall meet up with the main harness.

It's a 2010 FXCWC Rocker. I did a continuity test at the harness under the tank. Testing each set of wires for each switch. So for example I to test the horn switch I connected the multimeter to the orange and white wire and the yellow and black wire in the plug on the continuity setting and pushed the horn button. When the button is engaged there is continuity. I did that with the wires for each switch and have continuity with all of them when the button is engaged but not when it isn't. I also tested continuity from the other side of the harness to the fuse for each.

Yes the bike runs but has no left turn signal, high beam, or horn. I can and will ride it if we don't resolve it before all of the salt is gone from the roads but I was hoping to resolve it before putting the tank back on and filling it up so I don't have to drain and remove it again if the problem is under the tank. I will also need it resolved to pass an NY inspection that is due.

So I finally figured out what is wrong. Apparently I'm a moron. After chasing my tail for a while it dawned on me that I should double check the connector that I reassembled after pulling the wires through the bars. With the tank off I can see the wires going into the other side of the harness for comparison. I had the connector wires in completely reversed. So when I was looking at it the correct wires were next to each other but I had them going in the wrong direction.
Thanks for all of your help everyone. I'm glad it was a simple and stupid mistake. Now I just have to put everything back together but I did plug it in and test after rewriting it and everything works again. After all of this all that is actually broken is my pride
