16" Wild One Chubby apes on Reaper. I never feel like my hands are slipping off the grips. In fact, I find that I barely have to apply grip pressure to control her comfortably. Very comfy overall.
I'm about 5'8". I think the Wild One 16s would be very comfy for you. Maybe even 18". The angle of the grips isn't pulled back too much. If you can sit on a Softy with a set installed, you'll know right away.
Im running the same bar as Clammy, 16" Wild 1 Chubbys. Im on my 16th Harley, this is the most comfortable softail I've had, I've had a few. I dont put on miles as much as Clammy but had a few 8hrs rides in this configuration

No apes. They (sometimes) look cool when parked, but I have yet to see someone riding with apes that didn't look like a total douche nozzle. I never understood the attraction to them, and never will. Watch this YouTube vid and see how stupid these guys look, and then realize that's exactly how stupid you're gonna look to the rest of the world when you have them on your bike. Don't do it.
