Default handlebars

I find the long reach tothe handlebars on my Heritage tiring and uncomfortable. Anyone have any thoughts on what will bring the handlebars closer, fits well and requires little or no modification to the cables?

Dude any time you move the bars enough to really feel the dirrence in their location...you gonna have to mess w/ the cables.

You may want to try a few different seats, that may take care of it.

If not, I suggest a set of apes, and kick 'em in your lap. Just a suggestion.

No straight easy answer without seeing you on the bike.

Take it to your local Stealership, and they will be more than happy to sell you some stuff.

You might want to check out the Wild 1's line of bars. The 518's are a pretty common fix. The 508's have come back to you even more. I have the 518's on my sig.

I have Wild 1 0518's on mine, and they solved a lot of problems for me. Also, you can use the stock cables with them--no need to buy new ones. If you're a little short in the cash department (or a sensible shopper), they sell what they call "specials" that have a tiny flaw in them that you can't even spot for a lot less than regular price, like $149 for a set of 0518's. The cost comes in with the installation price, though. Most dealers charge about 3 hours labor: do the math. It's worth it to find an indy, or, if you're capable, do it yourself. Also, installing Chubbys is a good opportunity to run the wires inside the bars.

. . . then while you're changing the bars and running the wires inside, go ahead and put on the braided cables too. Seriously.
