Help with fitment cross-reference - 2005 Fatboy SE 16 ga Double Barrel on a 2006 Night Train
I found a decent deal on a set of Screamin Eagle 16 Gauge Double Barrel pipes from a 2005 Fatboy. I am 99% sure these will fit my 2006 Night Train, but I wanted to ask those of you with much more experience than I. I don't believe I have to worry about the lack of o2 sensor holes, as the 2006 Night Train doesn't appear to have any.
Will the bracket from the 2005 Fatboy work? Are these pipes worth $100 (looking for a cheap replacement for my project bike). Due to the age, I cannot find much info about the fitment guide for these pipes, but they appear to have been made by V&H. I know a good 2-1 will give better performance, but I don't have the $600-900 for that at the moment.
Thanks for your help!
Both bikes have the same frame 47008-00C.
It seems the Screamin' Eagle came as mufflers only set 80354-00 (there's a damaged set on fleabay for $100).
So a full system probably has the Fat Boy H-D headers with it (front 65499-00A, rear 65503-00A).

You'll see from the V&H instructions how they are almost identical, V&H had slashed ends the SE straight cut!

I picked them up, and I am anxious to see how they perform. I did get the bracket from the seller, and they appeared to fit a number of non-O2 sensor softails.
Did you wife like the pipes on her '06? Online comments in older forums seem to indicate that the baffles can be swapped out for V&H baffles to make them slightly louder. Hoping the cross chamber gives better low end torque than something like the standard V&H short shots / big shots.
She kept them on that bike for the six years she had it, the only real issue was with the Deluxe being lowered on tight right hand bends it was easy to scrape the lower pipe!
The only other issue was she was forever melting her rain trousers on the upper pipe ..
That is until she got some with the heat resistant panel on the righthand leg!

Another picture with the bracket.

"Are you talking about the SE Pro 16 Gauge Double Barrel exhaust? If so, it was sold under part number 64901-02 for the Softail and last appeared in their 2006 SE Pro parts catalog. It was rumored that they were made by Vance & Hines for HD. And starting with their 2007 catalog, Vance and Hines offers a model called the Q-Series Double Barrel that looks very much the same (although I've heard that the baffle is not removable on the Q-Series, which it was on the 16 gauge).
I've had the SE Pro 16 Gauge Double Barrel exhaust on my 04 Heritage Softail for about 3 years. Looks (subjective)? Top shelf. Performance? Probably a bit better than your average 2-2 pipe. But definitely a step or two down from a good 2-1. Sound (very subjective)? Some like it...some don't. I've tried 3 different baffles hoping to change the sound. Currently I have the V&H Quiet baffles in them. Hope this helps."
I tried to provide a link to this above, but it didn't work.
