I'm running 14" bars, are you saying not a good idea to run rubber bushings ?

Yeah, for drag bars, the rubber bushings are just fine.

When I went from the 10" minis to the 14" apes, I had to change the bushings to poly. With the rubber ones, I could move the bars back and forth a couple of inches each way, and it made for very squirerly handling.

Even with the 10"ers, there was noticeable movement.

Just out of curiosity, do the 14" bars put your hands above your shoulders when you're in riding position? If they do, that's the reason for the numbness, and no changes to the bushings will make a difference.

Cheers!

Bad idea with bars that tall. I have 14s and I'm running solid bushings. My bars don't buzz and my mirrors reflect behind me well. Seems backwards to me, but I feel like the bars are smoother now than the worn rubber ones were. But different engine and different front end on my bike. Not sure how big that plays into it.

Yes, about in inch above shoulders. I belive I have poly bushings now. I'll try some different grips, the ones I have have zero rubber on them.

Ah, ok. The reason you're getting the numbness is that you're losing blood flow to your hands. The only solutions are go to lower bars, get a taller seat, or drop and shake out your hands occasionally while riding.

Cheers!
