Just acquired an 09 crossbones. Bone stock with 8k miles. Obviously it's our slow period at the dealership so I'm about to start chopping it up! I'll get pics going as I go along. Anyone wanna give me opinions on what you'd do /do differently? Going to mix old school cholo with modern bobber. Wish me luck!
I have the same bike, only thing I have changed on it was the floor boards to forward controls. The floor boards on that bike are really low and easy to drag for some reason. Honestly I wouldn't change a lot on that bike as they only made them a few years and won't make them anymore. Just my .02.
I love those bikes, there's one round here I see now and then, bone stock like yours, super clean. I wouldn't touch a thing.
Welcome aboard.

Hallo nice to here , chopping bikes is fun .
look at my crossbones -08 bought it new and start making things at the way i want .
lowering is the key to a nice softail frame .
good luck missing my crossbones sometimes but building me a corona projekt of a softail custom -07
nice bike too 👍
Only things I wanted to do to my Crossbones since I got it:
Headlight upgrade. Stock headlight is not the greatest for night riding. Daymaker, or if I could ever find that accessory bar that bolts on and puts two more spots on either side of the headlight.
S&S tear drop air filter. Old style on the bike, old style air cleaner would be nice
Black pipes. Blacked out bike, blacked out paint, giant chrome pipes down the side, just something about it never sat right with me. Now if I could just find someone who makes the WWII style pipes, I'd be throwing money at them.
