Hey guys, anyone here running Lyndall Z-Plus series brakes on their bikes? I found a set of 7257's for the rear, but had to order the 8181's for the front directly from Lyndall & was wondering why no one carried them. If anyone is using Z-Plus brake pads on their bikes, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Are they actually dustless? How is the performance compared to standard pads? vAlso, am going to try switching from counter-weights to Counteract balance beads, so if anyone has any thoughts on that, I'd love to them as well!
Been using them for many years, and they're a huge improvement over the stock pads. Little to no dust, quiet, smooth, excellent wet weather performance, and don't eat rotors. Since Reaper only has a single disc up front, and I've experienced brake fade when heavily loaded down with luggage and a passenger, I run their X compound pads (H/H rated) up front, and Z-Plus in the rear.
I'm running the Z+ pads on the Sportster. Lyndall pads are expensive but worth it IMO. Are they totally dustless, no but there is very little dust from them. Never experienced fade from them, they've been easy on the polished rotors I have on the bike, and never had any noise problem either.
I use Dyna Beads, have for some time now. I've had the bike up to 90-95 mph and it's as smooth there as it is at slower speeds. Don't know why anyone would run ugly lead weights when there are balancing beads that do the job.
Hey Clammy, thanks for the info man! I haven't experienced any brake fade on mine yet even when loaded down with my wife & full camping compliment, but I'll be sure to keep that in mind! My bike came factory with ABS. Does that alleviate the problem of fading at all? I likely haven't had any issues because I don't drive nearly as fast as when she's not on the bike & it's all stripped down. Beautiful bike too btw bro!!!
Thanks Firehawk! I regularly run my bike flat out when Caroline's not on the back, so good to know that the beads work well at higher speeds. Anyone running beads at speeds at or above 120mph?

ABS would definitely help with fade. For me, the fade happened while I was with my ex-OL, loaded down in Baggertail mode (Electra Glide hard bags and king tour-pak, with about 100 lbs of luggage) , 2-up, in SoCal when the air temperature was well over 100 *F, on a downgrade, and I had to brake hard for an extended period of time. Once I let off the brake, it came back quickly, but it was a real pucker moment. After that, I researched pad materials, and ratings, and came to the conclusion that I need an H/H rated pad, so I switched the front pads to the X compound, and haven't had any issues since. The Z-Plus is more than enough to lock up the rear wheel, so I stayed with that on the rear.

Yup, heheh... been running dyna beads for years as well (sometimes I use Ride-On), and have had Reaper over 125 mph with them, and she was perfectly stable.
Thank you guys for your quick replies. You've put my mind at ease. I love, Love LOVE riding as fast as my bike can go, but I also like to try & keep it safe. (If that makes any sense... - I expect to some it might not make any at all...) LOL In any case, thank you so much for your input!!!
I've been using the Z+ pads since about 2009. Good pads! No wet weather fade, never had hot pad fade, and no noticeable brake dust on the wheels and no squeal even when heavily loaded.
