Default to remove or not to remove...o2 sensors

I'm taking delivery of my new 07 Night Train shortly and have read(and heard) a lot of conflictingtales about the removal of the unsightly o2 sensors, the bike is fitted(or will be) with V&H big shots,SE filter kit and SERT, my dealer says the sensors have to stay with this set up if the bike is to run ok,seen quite a few posts on here about sensor "eliminators" but they always seem to be fittedin conjunction with PCIII or similar....so now I'm totally confused [&:],are these eliminators available as a seperate item? will they work ok with SERT? what are the pro's and con's of removing them?....any advice much appreciated...thanks

I went with PCIII, K&N air filter and V&H big shots long. I left it in the hands of capable and very knowledgeable technicians. I wanted the best configuration, with outthe salesmen's specialized technical terminology characteristic ofthis particular subject. Step out of the showrooms and talk to some real mechanics who are treating the 07's properly.
I'm very happy...but then again I'm not comparing.
P.S. Sensors&Eliminators what and where are they?

The eliminators are just a resistor fitted to a connector that matches the one on the end of the O2 sensor and gets plugged into the line to the ECM under your seat.
When you put a PCIII into the bike it takes the injector signals and lengthens them so the injector stay on longer, addingmore fuel to compensate for the increased volume of air an engine with aftermarket intake and exhaust can move. If the O2 sensors were left in place the stock ECM would see the extra unburned fuel and try to lean the engine out on you. Unfortunatly it doesn't have the "range" to do itso it thinks something is wrong and will start screaming "Check Engine" on you. The eliminators "fool" the ECM into thinking that air/fuel ratio is normal and it should continue to follow the map it has.
The stock system isn't the greatest, its still using MAP sensors. Something the auto industry has long since tossed out the window in favor of the more flexable and accurate MAS system.
With a SERT you don't need and really shouldn't'eliminate' and O2 sensors because theystill have some value, But you could "eliminate" them if you wanted to. The SERT doesn't modify the signal output the way a PCIII, FuelMoto or many of the other aftermarket systems do. It can actually load completely new Maps into YOURstock ECM. With one of them you could rebuild your entire engine with all tricked out high performance parts, then write acustom Map for the ECM instead of fooling around with add-on systems designed to "trick" the stock ECM.

I've been wondering the same here. Is it better to use the SERT since it does not alter the signal or go with the PCIII type? Maybe there is no right answer, but in my situation I need to be careful no to upset my dealer since I have a warranty for 5 years and 3 years of them doing the maint (purchased at the time of sale).

Anyone have any issues in eliminating the o2 sensors and needing warranty work? My thinking is that the SERT would be the dealers preference and would cause less grief in the event I need a warranty claim.

Another issue I have is that the pipes I want (Porker Perf Jacknives) they do not make for the 07. So I was thinking of getting a set for an 06 and a PCIII with the eliminators since the 06 pipes for a softail do not have the ports for 02 sensors anyway.

If was me I don't think I would take the chance. Knowing the dealers they would find a way to not cover it. The amount of money you spent on the warranty. Why risk it ? My vote would be the sert or have the dealer install the PCIII.

Well writen explanation Citoriplus.
