Ok. I can't find what I desperately need. I need to add cruise control to my 15 Deluxe but can't find it before 16.. HELP. Hand injury says I gotta have it
Agree with BoneDoc, throttle by wire came on the '16+ models, so unless you're
willing to spend ~$1,200 (or more) for an aftermarket 'mechanical' solution, it'd be easiest to
just sell your '15 and switch to a newer model.
I have a '13 Slim and looked into attempting an ECM/BCM w/electronic throttle from a '16 Slim,
but I have an HD speedo that is 'married' to the ECM, so I dont know to reprogram the '16 ECM
to have my '13 Slim's ID/VIN/whatever... The '16 HD parts (electronic TB, ECM/BCM/etc) is
also going to cost in $1,000 range (perhaps more).
SO, given the cost, this is why I think it'd be easiest to just sell & buy a newer model.
Obviously trading to a 16 or above would be hitting the easy button. They don't make newer in my Moroccan gold pearl either so id have that cost to keep what I love. I was hoping someone would know a way to do it without the obvious. Thanks Guys...
Here's a thread from 2013. The OP installed cruise on a 2012 Heritage which would be the same as your 2015 Deluxe; CANBUS wiring without throttle by wire (TBW). You may find some helpful information in there.
The bottom line is it won't be easy and is not without its frustrations and headaches. If you have the money and will to do it then go for it. By the way, why do you need cruise control?. Why not just use a better throttle control
I would add this... it would be easier to buy a bike with factory cruise control and paint it Moroccan Gold Pearl than to take a bike already painted Moroccan Gold Pearl and add cruise to it.
