Default Here we go again

Just bought a 2008 Heritage! Was told by the person that sold it to me.That if the battery dies,I would need to reprogram the chip/key! Cant I just put a new battery in it and start it or is there a trick?She has 30,000 on her now!Any important things I should do or need to know about this year.?Thanks

If that were true you would need to have it done every time you disconnect the battery for any reason.

I think he is wrong. And him telling you that means he's been having battery problems.

Put a new battery in it. Just keeping it on a maintenance charger gets it started and usually the last time is at home.

And never jump start a Harley with a dead battery unless it an emergency. If battery is bad and you fry alternator and regulator, it a good size chunk of change just to get to it.

Should be a date on battery. Should read 12.7 after it sets. Never drop below 9.7 when cranking and be around 14.3 at 2000 rpm and never above 15. All DC voltage. Should never see AC.

Reset the password code to your numbers and practice it. I set it all 1s. You will understand why when you fo it.

You were given misinformation. You don't need to reprogram the FOB after changing the battery.

So what's with the title, Here we go again ? That means that something has happened before. Care to explain?
