Default Oil Temp Dipstick for Fat Boy

Hello everyone,
I recently bought one of those analog oil temp dipsticks. However, this thing looks nothing like the stock dipstick. It's not as long, and I'm not seeing the low/high marks. I bought it off eBay. Did they send me the wrong one? (auction said it fits Softail models, including my 2005 Fat Boy)[sm=dontgetit.gif]

Can you post a pic of it? I have the digital dipstick for my '05 Fatboy. Genuine HD. It is completely different than the stock dipstick, which I like a lot better. I like the fact that the stock dipstick can be used on the jiffy stand. The digital dipstick must only be used with the bike upright and with hot oil. The digital dipstick has a shorter overall dipstick part. I can measure the one in the bike tonight if you want....

I got the H-D part number 62896-00A. Says it fits '00 and up Softail models. There is one for the '84 to '99 models part number 62668-87TA. The temperature dipstick is shorter than the stock unit, and I have some very fine notches or lines on the stick indicating (I presume) the upper and lower levels. It does work; on a normal day the oil temp will run between 200 and 225 degress F. I can see oil on the stick when I pull it out. I figure if it touches oil in the tank then at least it's not too low.

My digital unit is the same--for '00-up Softails. What I have found is that the upper and lower marks on the digital read lower than what the factory floppy dipstick shows. For example, with hot oil and a full reading on the stock unit while on the jiffy stand, I only show half to 3/4 full on the rigid digital dipstick with the bike vertical. I don't think it matters much, a quarter inch either way on the stick.........
