Seems to have the same multiple problems re-occuring across multiple models and years.

well I'm no troll, but until HD resolves their big motor heating issue (which I'm sure will involve water cooled), I won't buy a newer one...I wouldn't wear shorts while riding, but am more concerned with the high temps damaging internal parts than "feeling hot" at the stop signs... to top that off, my friend rides an '07 Heritage, and my stock (except A/C and pipes) 2001 88 incher will run off and leave his 96 incher (also with pipes and race tuner)...I just can't see the extra engine size if the benefits aren't there...

And it's not just Harleys, this dude ain't happy with anything he owns and so full of sh*t it's leaking out of his ears.

Does this sound familiar?

What a shame, pay thousands of dollars for an amp from a so called reputable manufacture "Marshall"and then have to spend another load on getting the amp to sound the way it should sound. What are the Marshall techs thinking when they build these things, it's as if they've never heard vintage sound before. If people can get past this name thing "Marshall" they'll get a much better and more vintage sounding amp by purchasing a ready built from George, or even building one from scratch themselves. If your one who needs the "Marshall" name on your amp, they sell the logos on EBAY for about $20.00, which is much cheaper than an amp overhaul!

Can I give my 2 cents.....My buddies and I traded in our '97 evos for an '07 Fatty. I've put over 2,000 KM (1,000) miles on it.We've never been so satisfied with our bikes. We have been so impressed with the improvements over the '97. I don't care what anybody says, the '07 is an awesome bike. Best Harley I've ever owned.

Not to be argumentative, or get into the 'fray' that this thread is turning into, but my buddy and I ride together a lot since I got my bike. He has an '04, with similar mods as mine, and our temps are nearly identical every step of the way. Also, on our last 125 mile run last weekend, we swapped bikes and he can't stop raving about the positive differences (handling, power, gearing) that the new model brings over his. I could really tell the difference in power (the 96 isnoticably more powerful, in my brief experience) when launching from a start... he says he feels he always has to be 'on it', but really was impressed with the new engine. I certainly could see what he was referring to, as it did feel like I had to get on the throttle pretty hard just to get it moving, while mine is effortless.

Just a couple of honest, unbiased observations based on an apples-to-apples comparison... your mileage may vary!

Your buddy must have got a bad tune because my '07 Heritageleaves my buddies '05 Heritage out to dry. We switched bikes and he could not believe the difference either.

i keep on seeing these posts from guys running 88's telling the whole world that they blow off the new 96's......I'm with Heritage07, and every bike journo that tested the 96 a year ago - the new motor and gear box outperforms the 88 in every test.

I can say only 2 things.
First off I am sorry to hear of your troubles with the new 08 bike, BUT
It is under Warranty is it not?
Seriously, if they wont fix it/take it back RIDE Like its stolen....if it doesnt break, it will be one Bad *** motor.

I wish you luck my freind, Ride the Hell out of it.....[8D]

I broke my bitch in right and drove it likeI stole it, at 4000mi oil leaking all over the place F**k it . If the P.O.S is going to break I will know there is a problem sooner than later so the warranty will cover the issues before it runs out.

I think you must be talking about Bumpus or Cool Springs. That would be my bet. Great places to go look...but not buy. Good luck with your 08, hope you get the bugs worked out.
The Harley dealership in Columbia is onwed by the same people that own Cool Springs. Do you think they have a difference pricing stucture???
I think I'll ride down there in a few days and check them out.
