Sorry, the studs are beautiful. It is a Heritage in other words, styled ater a 1940s FL. IMHO, the Twin Cam era Heritage Softail Classics are the best looking factory bikes Harley has ever produced .
If you dont like studs, why buy a Heritage? Your bike, your choice, but why butcher a beautiful bike?

Did you put anything in the hole? Close up pic please.

The rivets may be too big since each chrome stud makes two small holes very close to each other. I havent plugged the holes yet but it seems as if they dont go all the way through to the inside of the bag. Here are better pictures. Only been off for a few days so Im unsure if the circular indentations will fade with time.
I agree with @RANGER73 that would drive me insane. Even more so then I already am.
I'd be very surprised if those rings left from the studs will ever fade away. Reason being.
I really liked the Red Medallions on the 2016 Heritage, so I ordered one. I removed my saddlebags for winter storage
and took off the Medallion on my 05, a little different but close in size. I slipped on the 16 Red one and it
didn't cover the indentations left by the previous one. I let the bags sit like that over the winter
and into early spring, nearly 6 months and they never faded. Those rings/indentations would
seriously eff with my head. Good luck.

I suggest a gentle scrub using saddle soap, warm water and a soft dish brush. I like it without the studs. I removed the studs from my 2007 Fat Boy seat and fuel tank panel.
