Default Captain Itch heat shield
Today I took my first ride in the summer heat with a Captain Itch heat shield installed. Holy shiite, I can't believe how much difference it makes. When I bought my current Heritage, I had forgotten about the Blazing right thigh syndrome due to the heat from the rear cylinder, and at 70 years old, I am a LOT more comfort oriented than I was when I had my 2005 almost 20 years ago.

Anyone suffering from the cooked inner thigh, I can certainly recommend the Captain Itch....

The Captain Itch crotch cooler also was a big help with the high heat radiating from my 2016 Fatboy S with the 110 twin cam. I now have a 2022 M8 114 and can't believe how much cooler than a twin cam the M8 motor runs. I basically feel no heat off the motor and I live in Florida.

So where does all the heat go if you block it all in with a hunk of leather?
It would seem like is would obstruct air flow and actually make your engine run hotter.

The Captain’s Crotch Cooler doesn’t block the heat, it deflects it away from your thigh.
They work similar to Harley’s Mid-frame Air Deflectors, only better.
