I like round not oval. That said I really like my Trask. It did have a downside. The cheap Chinese filter it comes with was too restrictive for my build and it hit a wall at 120/120 hp/torque. Fortunately k&n makes one that fits and it ended up doing 127/126 hp/torque. The opening to the throttle body gives it that venturi effect and it covers the screws. Its magnetic.

Can't say better or worse but my 88 and 96 has the screaming eagle kit, which at the time came with K&N. K&N says they can go forever But I replaced each one once when doing other big projects and just spending money. But that was after 15 years or so.
Not sure what they are doing today, but I would probably buy SE with whatever filter it comes with, assuming you can be replaced with K&N later. If not I still might, cause I don't want to spend to much time on air cleaners.
