Hang in there Mr. Cloud. There are some really, really knowledgeable people here who will do everything they can to help you get that bike back to perfect running. Don't let one comment ruin it for you. This is a really good site with a lot of really good people.
You'll get it fixed. Just takes some time and perseverance.
Not having read all this has the ignition circuit breaker been replaced or bypassed for a test yet ? Had a couple of these on bikes drive me nuts chasing that intermittent gremlin.

No, I haven't crossed that bridge yet , how do you do the bypass test ?

Just wire across the terminals or put both wires on one stud, honestly at your bikes age I'd just replace them all they do get weak with age.
Had a funky circuit breaker almost pulling my hair out on a road trip. Did pretty much what you are chasing, get warm and trip, cool down and reset and all was good for bit again. Wasn't consistent and started during a rain storm so we were looking everywhere but.

Thanks, I appreciate the help, I will order new ones for sure even if that's not the issue as it may be at a later point. Much cheaper to do it in leisure than to break down and need to pay a wrecker plus still wind up replacing after failure.

The fact that you appeared to be ignoring suggestions was why I made the post.
Looks like you took a ride to me, without first trying anything to clear up the issue, that is why I said it is not going to fix itself.
I took the ride before I joined this forum. Rode it the day before that 39+ miles no problem. Ran fine to begin with on the ride that made me join, and start this question. I stated that I started the bike this morning. The bike has not been rode since before my first post. Get it ? This may come as a surprise to you but a majority of issues arise whe you " take a ride ", Besides that you still didnt need to be sarcastic, no change that / you didnt have to be sarcastic, obviously you needed to, and still do. And besides YOU haven't offered one single suggestion. If you are considered good on this forum, then it's a waiste of time, and I would be ashamed to be a part of it, with someone like you treating new members like this. You sir are a real piece of work. Hope you are proud of how you treat people you do t know. I guess it's supposed to be funny.

I want to truly thank those of you that honestly attempted to help me and give me suggestions. However because of Dan89FLSTC, I no longer want to even seek advise on this forum. I guess he accomplished what he sat out to do and ran someone else new off. ( I'm sure this is not the first time). I will say that I am surprised that only 1 person was decent, and brave enough to acknowledge this, and stand up for his forum in the right way. If I cared about my association I wouldn't want to stand by while any member treated another new, or established member badly for no reason. That is the world we live in now though people can be jackasses and no one cares. I didn't expect this from this forum, but I now know I should have. Thanks to those who are here for the right reason.
Mr. Cloud, please let it go, and let's just stay focused on how to fix your bike.
You said you are not a "quitter" - So come on, let's get back to the basics of the problem [ with your bike ] and let personalities not get in the way.
This IS a good bunch and they will get you fixed up.
