Default fuel tank question

On my 99 Softail Custom, The book say the fuel tank is 5.2 gallons and the reserve is 1.2 of it. I ran out of the primary tank today with only 134 miles. It only took 2.5 gallons to fill it back up. While that is good milege, Why can I only hold 3.5 gallons of fuel?

Check your crossover tube if you are not filling each side independently....

Default RE: fuel tank question

on a 99 you have to fill each independantly unless you have a while for it to cross over........the left side is a reverse thread in case you couldn't get it open
