I've always wanted to change my horn to a louder, more distinctive "ehh ehh" like a police horn or maybe even fire truck horn but have had no luck finding one that is plug and play. If you or anyone else comes across one of those I'd be very interested in any details/resources.
OP, I run a chrome round Mini Beast
I've got an oval one, flat black with raw ribs sitting on the shelf if you're interested.
Took it off for the chrome look, works fine.
If you're interested PM me with an offer.
Here's a picture of one, not mine, but what it looks like.
Ranger, thanks for the offer but I went ahead and ordered the Denali SoundBomb Mini. I think that I may have to do a few mods since I have a crash bar on the bike and with the mini being larger than the stock horn, I may have to use an adapter to move the horn out away from the body of the bike just a tad.
I tried doing a search but it was of no use. Has anyone replaced their horn with an aftermarket horn and if so, what did you go with. Hate the stock horn but would prefer a plug and play.
Being poor as dirt, I couldn't and didn't go with any 'aftermarket' stuff. Instead, I knew what was louder than the stock H-D horn and went with that...and it was free - the horn off my '86 Dodge D100. The stock H-D cover doesn't cover it, but I don't care about looks so much as what works. I want people to hear my horn, and now they do, at least a little better. One day though, I hope to have some kind of air-horn.
Slightly off topic: I put dual horns off a mid '80s junkyard Cadillac on my wife's golf cart. Sounds awesome. My Heritage has an aftermarket compressor/horn assembly and it works great. I'll have to check the brand later.
