2000 Fatboy puking oil.
I'm stumped, my 2000 Fatboy 88 is puking out the oil through the breather ports on both front and rear heads. I'll drain and put the recommended amount 2- 1/2 quarts in the tank. Start and run for 15-20 min as soon as I shut it off it shoots it out to the ground. @ $12 a quart I need some help. I rerouted away from the carb it was fouling plugs and keeping my filter drenched. Would it be the umbrella seals?

Are you checking and refilling the oil on a warm/hot engine that has been run in the recent past, like within a half hour?
(I would also suggest, on a warm/hot engine, filling it to halfway between "add' and "full"... don't just dump 2 1/2 qts in the tank...)
If yes to above question, how long has this been an issue?
Have you done any recent mods/repairs?
Have you recently done a compression test? The bike is 24 years old after all....

As often happens with softatils, I am thinking, could be wrong, that at some point, oil was added based on a low level reading after oil in the tank drained down into the sump and the oil added to the tank over filled the system.
Try this. Do not add any oil after the dump. Start and run with the dipstick out and watch to see the oil returning from the sump into the tank. Let her run for a while or take a short ride. Then shut down and check oil level, on the jiffy stand. Add just enough oil to reach the full mark. I am guessing it won't be 2.5 quarts.
If the system was over filled, this will cure the issue. If not have to look elsewhere, like the breather system itself but eliminating the most common reason for this condition should be addressed first.

If it's a sumping issue it'll go back into the oil tank.
Check the level straight up or leaning on the jiffy stand. Check the manual.
Run it a little low, between low and the full mark.
I'm thinking too much oil.

I'll bet he overfilled it.....
Unless of course, he beat the hell out of it and something internal was damaged... But you know him better than me.. most likely an oil overfill

The umbrella seals are one way out. There not going to prevent oil blowing out. They keep anything from coming in.
If a TCb is overfilled by not checking it hot and after it's had a good run, it's easy if it has set a while (usually days depending on how worn oil pump o-ring is, your going to put too much in.
I bet it's not throwing out oil like you say and sounds like you have modified breathers outlets to screens. It doesn't take much to make a mess.
If my 04 sits a few months, the whole tank drains down. Years back, it would only go to about add.
I have only been able to get back on it few times in years. It takes a good mile to get it normal.
If someone topped it off like that, it would pop the dip stick off. Its actually hard to overfill a TCb and that be the reason it blowing up top.
Oil has to totally fill crankcase , go up the push rod covers and up thru drains in head.
Mine can take all that tank into the base and not blow oil. Now when it's like that, I keep the RPM no more then 2000 or so till it gets normal. It only recovers around 20% more then it's putting out running.
Been doing that since 2020 or so.
Not sure but this may help.
