I got a Sportster and a Softail. The way I look at it is I have the best of both worlds. The Sportster, in my opinion, is more fun to ride because it's so fast and easy to throw around. The Softail is MUCH more comfortable and still a badass bike. Girl's bike or not, I can't knock the Sportster. This is the second one I've had. I wouldn't mind a Deluxe either. Harley did a great job building a nostalgic bike.
Ha ha ha !!!! if you think Harley's sales are dropping now . . . I really don't see how (or why) honda would want that. I can't imagine the powers that be at Harley giving in to being bought out by japs. Who would want one ?
It would make our bikes collectors items. A non amf Shovel would be the hot ticket.
like it said in the forbes article, there is a culture that follows HD. if it were bought out by honda, that culture would find another bike to buy. The reason HD is so powerful is because it is an American owned company made in the mid west.
