I saw the news on the thread about deamon cycle and was wondering if anyone had ever bought anything from KC International. I have a Sept 25th appointment to have the new rotors and spacers put on and am still considering a new rear pulley. Chops told me to beware of some of the stuff sold on the internet cause it was made of poor material. Nikon8 told me a while back that "you get what you pay for" so my question is "has anyone here gotten anything from KC I, and if so how was the quality." Unlike the rest of you folks I don't have tons of $$$, so I come as close as I can to the best, if not the best. $400.00 for a pulley is a lot for me but if I can get one thats good quality for $250-$275, then thats me. Have a good day.
I have not heard of any of them but I agree with NIKON, You Do Get What you PAY FOR! Thats why it blows me away, someone buys new bike and right off they want pipes, K&N, SERT, or a cheaper piggy back module, get all these things and SERT, and at 1000 mile service have it DYNO-TUNED! YA'LL pay $21,000.00 out the door but want to go cheap on other things, I think that does cause problems, my penny, your hard earned MONEY! PURPLE HAZE.
I bought rotors and a few other items from there for my softail. Quality was very good. I had thier 5-star floating rotors which cost me $220 for the pair. They looked 1000 times better than the harley thunderstar rotors. They take about 3-4 days to ship your stuff.
I got a set of chrome switch housings from them off eBay, and the transaction went smoothly. The quality was very good, and the price was right. I checked their feedback pretty carefully, and while not pristine it didn't appear to be excessive (compare them to Demon Cycles and you'll see the difference).
I got a set of drag bars from them, there was an obvious MFG defect that they could not have seen since it was wrapped...they refunded my money and the shipping cost. it did take a second phone call for the shipping cost refund, but they were Ok with it.
I bought my new 80 spoke wheels, a set of polished rotors and matching pulley from them. They did not informe me, and I didn't realize that I was supposed to know off the top of my head what size spacer I was going to need to fit with thier wheels and pulley on my 01' Heritage. Needless to say I was pretty pissed when it all came in and I found that out. Since the pulleys are an "absolutly no refund or exchange" item I went ahead and measured to figure out what size spacer I was going to need to get pulley to fit. Ended up needing a 5/8th inch spacer. Called to order, they don't carry that size. Only 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch spacers. So I had to order and pay for 2 spacers, 1/4 and 3/8's to get the 5/8 that I needed.
I'm happy with the quality of the parts I've recieved from them so far. I will just be more reluctant to order from them in the future, as I believe they should have been able to let me know what the offset was going to be and the size of spacer I needed to get the parts I ordered from them to fit. It's not like I was ordering for a custom bike. It's a damn HD and they have the measurements available to them.
hambone thanks for your reply as well as purple haze, scooter, and the rest of you. I did see on their site the part about knowing for sure the exact size pulley you would need and the correct number of teeth, and what spacer. The No Return policy kind of made me balk cause if its not correct then you're stuck with the parts. I hadn't phoned them yet to ask questions about the parts, sizes etc I'll need, but you can bet everything will be in order! I'm glad to get this feedback. Its very helpful. I think about 90% of the forum has decided to leave 'deamons junk' on the shelf. Im just trying to play detective and get all the info I can on these folks, and so far all is well! Thanks for sharing your experiences and thoughts.
XXXRacing I know exactly where you're coming from about the rotors from Harley. I bought 2 of the tear drop floating rotors for $298.00. I got them home and they just didn't do the trick. The only chrome part was the very center and that wasn't very big at all. I went to Hog Alley the next day and ordered some real tear drop rotors that are all show chrome and only spent $220 for them. When I took the Harley rotors back the salesman was pissed and said and I quote "Well I guess you're happy, you just cut me out of a $300.00 sale buddy". I told him, "Man f*** you and this overpriced bulls*** and give me my damn money! Now when I go into that dealership he always pretends to be busy. Thanks for the ear.
Purple Haze you always shoot from the hip! And I like that, but my thing is If I can get the same product thats going to perform the exact same way, then why not try and save a buck. Case in point, Nikon sent me a link to Zanotti Harley Davidson that had the same exact fender rails as some other websites for about $25.00 cheaper. Like I said my name is Bruce, not Big Bank Hank. Then on the other hand I bought a chrome lower belt guard for my Deluxe from Central Texas Harley Davidson, got it home, took it out of the package and it had something about Kuryakyn on it. Now go figure. I don't think quality is about money ALL the time Hoss, can you follow me. Thanks for your time
I bought my pulley & rotors (u can see in my pics) from KCINT
So far I like them a lot and no problems but 1 thing to watch for...
The pulley that "fits" an 05 softtail needs extra stuff to actually fit, Ie spacer but i wouldnt get 2 from them theres a company that sells 5/8" which is what i need too and then the pulley didnt even come with bolts that fit with the spacer, so i had to bu longer chrome bolts (the puuley came with chrome bolts too short for the spacer)
so summed up i like mine but dount ill do business with them again
