Default Need help getting part from Europe!

I was wondering if there were any members who were located in Europe? I found a part I’ve been searching for. According to the Website Jan Willem Boon, they have it but they won’t ship outside of Europe. I was hoping maybe I could have it shipped to someone who would ship to me. Just a thought or is there another way to get it here? Also let me know if that Website is legit or not. Thanks

If you list the part number, maybe someone here could help you locate one in the States.

I'm not in Europe, but I have a solution. I recently needed an obsolete transmission gear, I found one new on eBay at an HD dealer in the UK, but they don't ship outside the UK. I used a business called SHIPPN. https://www.shippn.com/en/home
I found these guys easy to deal with, and it took in total maybe two weeks for the part to arrive. They purchased the part for me and shipped it directly to me.

Yes this company is legit, I've dealt with them before.

I'm in the UK but it looks like I wouldn't be of much help here.

GB. United Kingdom: shipping by post/mail only, euro 22,-. (minimum order euro 200,-)

It's quite the same here as well with US companies not prepared to ship to the UK.

What is crap though is it could be handled as a personal export and it would be down to the recipient to take care of any import duty and tax, none of which would affect the sender of the parcel.

Thinking about trying it…they want me to pay for everything but I don’t know what the international shipping cost until after it gets to the “hosts” house.

I remember that, about the unknown shipping. Below is the charges for the 5th gear, shipping within the UK (to the host), bank charge etc. It was only $34.33, and the 5th gear was $20.24 of that amount. The second image is the international shipping I paid. Keep in mind this was a 2.2 pound part. They give you options of who to pick for shipping. I chose UPS because they do the best job with international shipping, that cost me $53.07, and in total I spent $87.40. To me that was cheap to get a new OEM obsolete 5th gear and shipped to the US.

I researched several companies that does purchasing and world wide shipping. These guys had the best ratings. I do know that I would use them again if I need to. The shipping from the UK to my house in Ohio, was only four days, and two weeks in total from when I started the process. .

I'm not sure when Ohio's purchase was made, but here's some food for thought about buying a part from Europe after August 2025....

I was searching to buy an obsolete HD windshield kit for my CrossBones about a year ago. I needed the windshield frames, and most importantly the OEM brackets, but the kit also comes with a windshield. My CrossBones had the OEM Springer fork mounts.

There were no versions of that kit in the US dealer netwrok, or new/used on eBay. I could NOT find the windshield framing or the OEM windshield brackets anywhere. They make new replacement windshields, but you have to provide the hardware.

The only dealer I found with a NOS part available, was in Germany.

I emailed the German Dealer and they agreed to ship the windshield to SoCal. They said they could handle the entire transaction.

While not really heavy, because of the included windshield, it's a large box. The handling & shipping charge would have been a little less than half the cost of the Windshield kit.

Shipping would cost me 165 Euros, which I believe at the time was about $185 US dollars.

The kit was selling for 369.64 Euros, or about $400 US dollars.

It was a little rich for my blood, so I thanked them and passed on the purchase.

This was before the repeal of the "de minimus" rule, which allows for packages below an $800 value to be imported duty free.

The "de minimus" rule ended in August of 2025.

I'm not sure how that would affect the prices I was given about a year ago, since today they would not be duty free....Now, I would be responsible for any duties owed on the transaction. I'm also not sure how to go about figuring out those charges.
