I'm finally sure of what size apes I want, 16's and was going to wait till winter before making the change but want to be sure on some things first. Has anyone installed on 16's a fatboy, using a novello harness? I searched around and it looks likea 12in. harness is too short, should I go with the 15 inch? . Also without having the bars in hand I might order +8 throttle/idla cable and +10 on clutch. Brake lines from HD. Also has anyone used polyurethane damper kit from Ness or J&P. Which works best for 06 stock risers. As always thanks for any help.
I just bought a spool of wire (16 gauge, I think) from the hardware store. Then I measured the length of the extensions out and soldered them onto the stock wireing .
I did the same as WARG, I just had some wire in my toolbox and cut the length I needed and soldered them in. I can't remember the cable and brake hose lengths. Looks like HD4ME has ya covered on that
thanks. Its the small comments that keep the money flowing from my wallet the the parts people!
ORIGINAL: WARG

Thanks all for the input. HD4me, might go with that same set up. How was it to disect the plastic connector, would you asy it cleans things up to use the novello harness? What do you think of the wild1's and 70 inch on the clutch huh. Please post pic with new tins must look sick

The Deutch (sp) connectors were easy. The ones for the turn signals were a pain until you get the feel for how to get the wires loose. Buy a manual if you haven't already...You'll need it. Make sure you put the wires back into their respective outlets (I made my own diagram so I wouldn't screw it up). If you don't mind soldering you can do what others have suggested with buying wire instead of the Novello set-up. It will save some dough. You might want to relocate your turn signals to the forks ( J&P sells some "L" brackets for this) so you won't have to extend that wiring. I'd get at least a 70" clutch cable, if not a 71 or 72. Mine has next to no extra cable housing, but the clutch adjusted fine.
