Default Removing risers on springer front end

I have got a 1996 Bad Boy with the springer front end. I am looking into changing out the risers to soemthing taller and chrome. Is there any trick to get the risers off or do I just unbolt from inside at the base of the riser. Any advice is appreciated.

Take off the riser caps/, move the handlebars out of the way, and unbolt from inside the riser. At least that's what my 03 is like.

Next question. What are you going to do with black risers when you take them off ?

I am not either. Just tell me what you think is fair or are willing to pay. I wanty to make sure my new risers fit like I want them to first. The old ones won't do me any good after I put on the new ones.

Better keep them, the badboys a collector bike. I'd keep all the oem stuff.

I second holding on to stock parts. If you ever sell, its likely the next guy will want them. Certainly it'll help pricing if you can include OEM parts as well as your mods. Plus you never know...you could change your mind and want to put them back on again.
