Springer riser question
So I put some Bad Boy risers on my Crossbones to get an extra 1.5 inches without changing bars. I noticed that my original risers had some light play in them and they didn't touch the front end. The standard harley risers from the Bad Boy are completely solid, metal to metal on the front end. Is that how they are supposed to be mounted or do I need different bushing to get that "rubber mounted" feel in the risers? In the crossbones risers there is a build in rim that keeps them from going down all the way so I'm guessing that's why the crossbones have that feel. I guess what I'm asking is, do I want my springer risers completely solid down on the front end? I hope someone knows what I'm talking about and it doesn't sound like rambling. Thanks

A lot of people prefer the solids because they don't give any, especially with ape hangers, but you can use regular or polyurethane bushings if you prefer. If the solid bushings are built on your new risers, you'll need different risers that accept standard bushings.
my concern is that I have a hybrid set up, new style crossbones riser stud with "damper" bushing and older style 4 inch springer risers with older bushing inside. Now if you would go by parts numbers, this set up shouldn't work, but it's there and solid. Alot of people on here seem to post about loose risers and needing to buy Alloy Art bushings and studs. I just want to know if someone out there has experience with both era's of harley springers and can tell me if I'm at risk of damaging something or if this set up is going to fall apart on me
