What year did the engine heat issue begin, specifically for Heritage and Deluxe models? Am I correct in saying thatyears 2006 and prior are excluded from the engine heat issue? Thanks.
My 07 standard just got out of the shop with the wires melted under the seat from heat. Only 1500 miles. Bike was running on one cylinder after a long ride and the shop said its a safety feature when the bike gets too hot. My bike is always hot...
I suspect that when you unplug the bike by adding open pipes and a SEAC and the appropriate ecm device the temp will drop to a more normal level if you have the fuel settings correct.
My '08 isnt "too hot"... Feels like every other air cooled engine ive ridden but bigger...
Prob just one of those internet myths that one person who is a touch on the pansy side doesnt like the heat being radiated on their legs... HD makes a little clip on air deflector for those folks.
My 08 FXSTC ran a little hotter than I was used to when I first got it, but nothing that would ever make me think about getting rid of it. Once I did the stage 1 it wasn't even an issue any more.
With the stage one and V&H pipes, my96" don't run all that hot. Sure it is a hotter than 88's, but this is to keep you a little warmeron cold days. Come to think of it, I think I paid extra for this feature.
