I can't decide if I should put on the cruise arms or an engine guard and pegs on my heritage. It is black with wide whites, kind of old school look. What does everone prefer?
For old school look, I'd go with the classic standard engine guard. Of course it's all personal taste. To me, my fatboy is not particularly retro, so I chose cruise arms as an alternative. My thinking was that without all the lights, the fat FL fender and the studs and the rest, an engine guard looks strange to me on an otherwise plain fatboy. On a Heritage however, with all the goods, I say it's the way to go.. classic look.
Either way would work fine and look fantastic though.. Just can't do both.
Cruise arms is the way to go for looks and comfort in my book. The arms have more adjustment and really doesn't look like an aftermarket part. I'm not a fan of engine guards and the spread leg look of guard mounted pegs.
here is a shot of my Heritage with engine and bag guards. I don't have any highway pegs, yet and not sure what style to get....Full engine guard does look good on a Heritage IMHO.
I installed the Harley mustache guard on my heritage. I love the look and function. The draw back of this bar is adjustment. I'm 5'11" and the reach to the foot rest is perfect. I've heard of over six footers having issues with this bar and I suspect a short person may have problems reaching it.

I went with the HD round nostalgic guard. It seems to tie everything else in nicely as I am also a fan of the retro look. I should have some shots of the front in my gallery if you care to take a look.
