Long lasting tires
I have an 07 Night Train, the rear tires on all the new softails is 200/55-17. It seems Harley has me by the short hairs. I only got 10,000 miles on my rear tire and it is down to the weare marks. I dont do burn outs, Im not very hard no the throttel, sometimes I will get on it but not much. Call me crazy but I can remember getting between 14 & 17,000 miles on a rear tire before.Does anyone know any long wearing rear tires for the new softails? Any help would be great. Thanks Catfish

Well, you got farther than I did on my 06 train. I have just over 8,000 miles on the front and rear tires. The bike is going in today for new front and rear tires! The rear tire is past the wear marks and the front is on them. I dont do burnouts but I do get on it hard sometimes! ; )
I am getting the Metzlers on it today and will see how they work out. I have heard that they stick better, but may not last as long. We will see.

10k is about right for a Dunflop, Metzlers and Avons will not last that long.

Sorry I listed Michlen as a sorce ! They have no sizes listed on thier website that fit softails after 2007.

Thanks for all the replies, I guess I ride to dam much, this must be what they mean by riding the tires off it. I got thenight train in June and have been enjoying rideing it so muchI put 10,000 on it. Guess I know where my tax refund is going this spring.
