My FXSTS tends to track a little to the left when I let go of the bars ...

I know on the 07 FLSTF w/200 tire, to get the motorbike to track or align the tires, they did in fact have to move the front tire over to the right/exhaust side. You can in fact see when you stand in front of the motorbike, look at the fender space from the fork on both sides of the tire, it is a good 1/4-1/2" more on the left side as you sit on the bike. I have heard this is not the case on 2008's. I am not sure if it is so on all softails with 200mm rears in 07 though, it is the case on the fatboys though.

Check alignment on rear, measure distance from pivot bolt (swingarm)to center rear axle on both sides, I think 1/4" or 1/8" (not sure which one)or lessdifference is ok, check your manual though.

With hands off it tracks straight if you can you believe it! 07 Softail w/200 rear.

I don't have the front wheel offset deal on my 06. That said, mine did drift a bit. Rear wheel alignment helped greatly. In fact the factory alignment was out significant.

Read here that the rear swing arm pivot point "tubular structure transversing the inside of the swing arm" is the place to measure. Coat hanger with a hook bend in it, hook it in and measure away.

Interestingly enough, my rear foot pegs arespot on too. Now I measure from there.

You will never get the rear wheel right with measuring the adjuster bolts. String or straight edge is the only way.

Agree!!! Measure from the inside of the rear swing arm Bolt.
