I don't know that it does, at least better than the red one does.
How wide are the lift arm or plate on the red one?
The part that actually does the lifting is12 1/2" wide on mine, is that wider than yours?
But the other part of the equation isthe frametube width and that is a bit narrower. So there is probably more chance of it tipping over sideways from that then the other way, even if it does seem tippy front to back.
If it really bothers you, and I have to admit it does me at times. You can do what I do and junk the rinky dink strap that comes with the jack and use some real ratcheting tie down straps to hold it in place. Works really well for me.

the width and length of the red jack is 13 1/4". the frame on the bike is 10 1/4" so you shouldn't have a problem with tipping. the height of the red jack is 5 1/4" at it's lowest setting.

How is the yellow and silver jack from Sears? I have heard mixed reviews about the durability and I have read that it is fast when lowering. Anyone have any information before I run out and buy one on sale this week?

I haven't had any problems with mine.
The only odd thing wasthe dropping fast, mine did the first couple of times I did it because the release was a little sticky. Since it has gotten a bit more break in time and I learned how it works, it hasn't beena problem.
Just be careful to havethe jiffy standdown before youlet it down.

I just started researching jacks/lifts and this is a helpful thread. Regardless of what forum Citoriplus is posting in, I always find him to be very helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks for helping the rest of us out so often!

EJ48 answered the question for me so I won't elaborate. I'm looking at thisas a replacement. I appreciate your input, Thanks. I'm not betting all the love and money I have invested on a rickety POS.
