49mm on the Wide Glide and 41mm on the Softail Custom.
Older WG's are the same 41mm, but the last production year for WG's was 07.
They no longer make them for 08, and thats something I find a bit odd.
I thought that bike would be in the inventory till hell freezes over.
Anyone know the temp in Hell is today?
They make the Wide Glide this year, '08, but only in the 105 anniversary color. The WG has 49mm fork tubes as does the 2006, 07, 08 Low Rider.
Been down the road with several Hogs. Just find the one that grabs you, and the one that feels good. goods and bads with all motorcycles.the perfect bike has never been made . Got to customize it to fit you,no matter which one you buy. Just my opinion. I must say,i do really like the softail so far. Some things i miss about my dyna too. Tough choices , no matter which one you buy,you will always want more bikes. They all good . I have to do mods to my Heritage, windshield is to tall, the pipes were too quiet, etc... They all this way .... That is part of the fun to mod your bike to fit you .
Best to take a couple for a spin. Personally I bought my 07 Deuce without test riding. Liked the look and just ordered it. Figured I would just adjust. Guess what. I have adjusted and know no difference. Have agood look around and see what takes your fancy before you decide. Abit like choosing a wife. You want to be together for a while and enjoy each others company. Play the field and then go for it. Then stay faithfull.
