Default Saddle Bags On A Fat Boy

Does the use of any and all saddle bags on an '05 Fat Boy require the directionals to be relocated or are there any styles that can be used without moving the signal lights. Any advice will be appreciated.

Not sure about the saddlebags. But if they attach like the detachable sissy bar then they will need to be re-located. Not a big fan of saddle bags on a fatboy. Lots of folks like them, so there should be someone on here that will know.

I have the rigid locking leather HD saddlebags on my 03 FB and they work with the stock exhaust, detachable sissy bar, and without remounting the rear turnsignals. They look great to me and much cleaner looking than the Heritage style bags. The only down side is that they don't hold as much.

You have the detachable sissy bar and you didn't have to relocate the turn signals? You still have the original airplane wing (for lack of a better term) ones?

I also have an '03 Fatboy and was under the impression that I would have to relocate the turn signals in order to use the detachable sissy bar. In fact, most fattys I see with detachable sissy bars and bags have either relocated the turn signals to the rear fender or they use the HD kit which is just basically a skinny silver tube.

I really like the look of the turn signals as is but would like the detachable option too...

If you have a picture of your bike with the bags on it, please post.

Thanks,

Yeah, Boatman, I would like to see that picture of your fat boy too. I am hoping santa will be bringing me the saddle bags on Saturday night.

You might want to try these guys

A buddy of mine that works with me got his from here. They do a lot of custom work and the quality is excellent. The prices are reasonable too.

I'm sorry, I stand corrected. My rear signals are on short tubes. The turnsignals, bags, and detachable sissy bar work well together. I will try to post a picture this weekend.
