Wasn't it shortly after Pres Ronald Reagan's tour and all the praise he gave the Motor Co that the FB was introduced? Maybe it was his idea. He did the tarrif on imports over 700 cc.
Either way he prob laughed like hell when he saw the 1st one.

saw this article before the opinion poll...I agree with the story...it was a proactive response to an affront to an american icon...and today that response continues...with the american street influence in design and function...that keeps the response proactive...
the other story of reason is that of the riding positions between the HD (american riding positions) and the foreign (english and japanese)...the position has not changed as well...the american position is that of the early american cowboy and his horse...another great analogy and story...[sm=americanasmiley.gif]
