I ran the new SE's on my new Heritage. I really thought they were pretty nice. They are fairly quiet at idle, but roar pretty good under accelleration. Definitely louder than stock at cruising speed, but not uncomfortable. They were the only hi-po mufflers that I didn't have to use earplugs with. IMO they are worth a try.

I have the 07 heritage with 1.75 rush - had them on now for about 6000k's. I suppose on the longer rides I have the windshield and tend to put earplugs in, or pack out the ear cavity in the helmet to reduceoverall noise. on the shorter trips no shield. either way the noise has not bothered me at all.. buythe 1.50 baffles , some swear by them.

I have the 2" Rush Slip-ons on my 07 Fatty. I don't use a windshield, and have never had a problem with the beautiful, rich, almost brings a tear to my eye sound of my slip-ons.

Only cheap solution I could recommend is wear ear plugs.

Wish I could be more helpful, but I would nevergive up my Rush 2" slip-ons.

I have 2.0s on my FLSTC. They are loud and I know about the resonence you're talking about. I get back from a long ride and my ears are ringing. But I still love the sound and I can live with it. What can I say. They sound better than any of my riding buddy's pipes and I really only got slip ons in case I got a fix it ticket and I could switch back to stock quickly. I feel like I got lucky with the sound of these things. I love em.

You think Rush mufflers ring your ears. I rode my buddies Heritage with V&H Big Shots Staggard, now that's ear ringing!

Have you tried ear plugs? I had a similar problem with my Samson,Rip Saws, which is a very loud exhaust. It was kind of like a jack hammer going off in my ear drum. I tried 2 different type drag pipe baffles. I finally figured out it was the lollipops I had made up and installed in my down tips. I took them out and it doesn't hurt my ears now. As you said it wasn't the volume of the exhaust, it was the resonance.
I also started wearing ear plugs.
