Here is the link to the HD website for chrome swingarms, you will see the 08' is a different part number.

I knew this. They also changed the frame. I am "assuming" that the whole drivetrain aligns differently in the frame than before. I see that the adjustment to the rear axle is different as well if the picture is correct (the one installed on the bike, on the one uninstalled, it looks like mine). I know that the axle and bearings are metric (more godforsaken outsourcing) as well...............

Well, I dropped the hammer (and my GD wallet!!)
21x3 52 spoke Mammoth DNA front rim and superspoke chrome rotor
18x5.5 52 spoke Mammoth DNA rear rim and superspoke chrome rotor
120/70/21 and 200/55/18 Avon Cobra tires
Carlini 14 inch 1 1/2 Gangsta Apes with matching "bra" risers (1 1/2 bars!)
Braided steel brake, clutch and throttle/idle cables
Chrome switch housings

and

a HD inverted fork off of ebay that has the part number ending in -05, thank you to the previous poster mentioning that I can ONLY use a 3/4 front axle, as thats what Ive ordered (correctly because of you).

Looks like a fun day or two is in order!!!!!!! I hope my fender fits over that damn tire!! I measure at least an inch of extra room under there now (140/70/17), and by the previously mentioned measurements, I get another 3/4 inch from fender stays that are further up this fork as compared with the stock fattys fork so.........................

We'll see!!!!!!!

(If this goes well I think the shop will be carrying DNA wheels from now on, the retail pricepoint seems right)

I don't know if I should just add the chrome front end package (lowers, axle, axle covers, etc) or just spring for the full-on chromed inverted front end. I think they're VERY sharp looking. Any of you know anything about them? Have any riding buddies who've bought it? Any feedback would be helpful......I really want to know if it affects the handling- positive/negative.....Thanks.

I've got the front end on my train in black. It handles better than a wide glide could ever hope to. I don't believe the rake is changed and I did ask that question specifically before buying it and they said no change. If you are just looking for a nice inverted front end that handles great I would reccomend checking out some of the aftermarket front ends. HD does not make the front end anyway it's from Showa. (yup Japanese, just like the wide glide...LOL)

Here's a link to check out some of the aftermarket front ends at killer prices compared to the stealer:

The HD inverted fork kit allows for 2 different axle combos, the older 3/4" axle kit(which I have) and a 25mm(1") axle kit for the newer bikes. Just a heads up.

Just another heads up....read the entire thread(actually, this thread https://www.hdforums.com/forum/showt...light=inverted), I almost didnt!! The 3.4 axle is the ONLY axle that will fit the early inverted forks (ends in part number -05) due to the way they are machined. The later forks, ending in 06, 06A and 06B do accept the 25 mm axle. I again thank that member!!!!

I've got a 2009 FXSTC with what I believe to be the inverted fork kit linked here. According to the HD website, the forks are 52mm. Is that the upper forks in the triple tree? Here are some pictures if that helps:

So can you put a 23 front wheel on inverted forks on a night train?
