Hi, After 16 years with my Sporty, I finally got an 08 Softail Custom 10 days ago. What a difference!!! Anyhow, I am looking to add the SE stage 1 air cleaner as well as SE pro torque slip-ons 80388-01. Does anyone know if I will be able to get a flash for this combo, or will I need to get a SERT?
The reflash download is available for the 08 softail. I have an 08 Fatboy and put rush slipons, se aircleaner and had the reflash done. Sounds awesome and runs great.
Get a power commander instead of the flash. It's around 230.00 if you shop around. Then if you decide you don't like the slipon's and want to change you won't have to get another flash. Flash will run around 150.00 (unless they have gotten cheaper anyway) each time. I know the SERT is pretty expensive also.
Also. I had the SE slipon's and was not happy with them. They don't have anything going for them in my opinion unless you want it a tad louder than what you have now. For a little extra money can find some decent pipes or even some rush slipons out there that will make your Harley.... sound like a Harley. You might want to consider this in my opinion only. Maybe as you can guess I am pretty anti with the newer SE's... I kick myself for getting suckered into those and I had to sell them for 100 less than I paid. They are like 300 aren't they? Can't remember for sure.
Thanks. I am getting the SE Pro Torques. They look like the stock pipes but are suppose to be in between the current SE Legals and the old SE II's in sound, with a sweet low note.
