Same here. Just make sure you tuck it behind the wiring harnes so it does nor touch the oil tank. This will also keep it sticking out when not in use.

For what it's worth, mine came installed from the dealer. They have it coming out on the left side of the bike, ahead of the oil tank. It is away from the oil tank enough, and pretty much out of sight.

I like it on that side because when I'm plugged-in, the connection to the charger is opposite of the pipes, so I don't worry about the cord hanging down anywhere where it can melt. I plug-in as soon as I'm backed into the garage without concern of heat hurting the electrical cord.

Seems the oil tank is the way to go. Exactly what I was looking for.Murphy's law tends to haunt me so I think I'll take poor boy's advice and put in on the left side away from the pipes. thanks

I have mine coming out between the rear fender and the chrome fender support rail. That way not much of the pigtail hangs out if it decided to drop out while riding. Plus I zip tied it in few spots near the battery to other wires.

Mine is wedged near the oil tank on the left side. My wifes 883c came with hers in the same spot. It keeps it wedged tight there and it stays put nicely.

Same here. I thought all new bikes came with one already in place. Guess not.

Mine is on the right side or brake side behind the oil tank. I loosened the fender chrome strip and routed the cablein between the frame and the chrome strip. Theirwas already acut-outin the chrome strip to guide the cable through. I just throw my tender electrical cord over the seat and plug it in. Doesn't get anywhere near the pipes. Works for me. 2004 Deuce.
