If I had to do it all over again I would follow the advise of old fender guy. The slash 11 screaming eagle slip-ons sound real good and you don't have to go thru the hassle of taking apart the head pipes that are in most cases the same as the ones that you are going to put on anyway with the exception of being bent differently to accommodate the new pipes.
My suggestion is ride for awhile and check out the other riders pipes. You'll find a sound you want and then you have the luxury of asking the owner about them.
If I was to get a new bike, I'd either stick with my V&H Pro Pipe or go with Thunderheaders. Good luck with your pipe hunting.
Btw, I forgot to mention if you're trying to be considerate to your neighbors, better pass on my set-up....mine set off 6 car alarms while idling thru the mall parking lot a couple days ago.
I recommend Rush Slip-ons I have the 1.75 inch baffles. They have the best sound nice andthroaty! they'reawesome! they can crack or you can back off to keep them quiet. I am constantly getting asked "what kinda pipes are those? What a great sound!".

Dealer is giving me the same set-up as I type....I hope it's worth it. $530 pipes, $600 SERT & Dyno, $79 TMB...can't wait until spring!

It's taken me 3 sets of pipes and slip ons to find the sound i've been looking for and this was the magic combination. I've been to several toy rides in the past month and got more head turns, questions, and "damn, that's the best sounding hd I've ever heard" comments...not to mention even more people rolling up their windows at stop lights or inching past me...hilarious...lol.
You want deep, vibrations....you're going to get it now....congrats.
I have V & H BSS plus SE AC and SERT. Unless I get on it hard its louder than stock(DUH) but not obnoxious. I also had the bike dynotuned and I am please with the results. You'll love the bike, just take your time and decide on what you want. Remember not all pipes will look good on our bikes. The nostalgic look sets it apart. The duals look awesome, the VH Longshots and BSS do too.
