Default Diamondback v's Braided SS

I am about to pull the trigger on a HD Beachbar for my 07 Heritage. New cables are on the list as well, just don't know which ones. Any recommendations as to whether diamondback or braided stainless steel are the way to go.

Does one look better than the other?
Does one perform better than the other?

Views welcomed.

I think that is the idea but really difficult to tell from the web pages.

I went with the diamondback. I still need to swap out the front break line. Visit a dealership and look at the display or better yet, have them show you a cable in each type. They may even have a few bikes there with these cables already on them, and then pick your choise.

To me, the diamond backs have more of white, plastic look. The SS are more steel colored look. I think I've decided to go with SS, I'm not real fond of the diamond look, but man my dealer really pushes them for some reason.

Do the Braided SS come with a plastic coating? I would of thought without it there is a real chance of scratching the paint as they must be pretty abrasive.

I have DiamondBacks on my 07 FatBoy, IMO they blend in better with the chrome. A friend has the stainless steel on his 05 NightTrain and they have a dull metal look to them.

Yeah, they have a coating on them.

I would really recommend doing like I Cut1 said, goto your stealer and check them out. Most dealers will have atleast one bike with them on it. Unfortunately for me, my dealer doesn't like the SS so they have diamond backs on everything. I would love to see a bike with SS on it.

I live in Bahrain in the Middle East and unfortunately the dealer here has all of four bikes on the floor and one of them is a Buell. They are all bog standard and the dealer does nothing to them until you buy the thing and pay for all the changes. They also don't carry stock of cables etc and bring them in to order. I can't therefore compare the two. I would love to be able to though.

Wow, that really sux, our dealership has a small display with a short piece of the cables, you might ask your dealer if they can get that, it would help them and you. I don't know how that works, especially in middle east. I would think any dealership would be able to purchase the displays.
