Belive it or not, it is actually good for your engine to rev your motor to near max rpm. It helps knock deposits off the valves and pistons.

Phew ! bout the only time i don;t hit the limiter is when I have the missus on board - but then again she makes her own godawful noise.

Reality is that shifting around the 5000rpm is probably all it needs , before shifting up , but without a tacho I frequently get it wrong . I know i am travelling when I hit it in 2nd/3rd gear. my limiter is set around the 6200rpm
