Belive it or not, it is actually good for your engine to rev your motor to near max rpm. It helps knock deposits off the valves and pistons.

Reality is that shifting around the 5000rpm is probably all it needs , before shifting up , but without a tacho I frequently get it wrong
. I know i am travelling when I hit it in 2nd/3rd gear. my limiter is set around the 6200rpmgrzly
