Default 07 Fatboy Front Fender

I've seen a lot of talk about the off-set of the front fender of the 07 fatboys and don't really have any problem with it, functionally. But I've also heard that the off-set is not present on the 08 models, thus are front fenders for an 07 and 08 not interchangeable? If not, does anybody know what minimum components would need to be changed out to update the forks on an 07 fatboy to be 08 compatible?

Just curious. You joined the forum last June, and you are on your 6th post six months later?

Scroll to the top of any forum screen and select "search". Enter YOUR thread title (that you have here) and then sit back and enjoy reading all about the '07 Fatboy fenders.

The '08 Fatboys got a frame change to go along with their symetrical front fenders. There is nothing you can do about your '07 Fatboy and its front fender alignment and corresponding front wheel offset. This has been very well documented and responded to by the MoCo via their dealerships.

Are you saying that an '08 fork assembly won't mount toan'07 frame?

I'm not saying it won't mount, I'm saying you won't be able to ride the motorcycle after you make those mods. There will be some kind of pull to one direction or another, and you will "eat" tire tread fighting the handlebar pull the whole time.

It all started when HD went to a 200mm rear tire. The change in swing arms created some kind of torque issue on the frame. HD fixed it with frame changes for '07 SE Fatboys, and all '08 FBs that followed. The quick-fix went to the production bikes in '07, offsetting the front wheel.

A factory recall, a little later in the model year, had folks bringing in their '07 fatboys for those fork-cover cutouts.

Believe me, you will be your own worse critic on this MoCo "whoops". The wheel offset is hardly noticeable and doesn't detract from the inherent beauty or value of the '07 Fatboy.

To make changes to the '07 frame go beyond anything I have info on. I can only imagine that it would be an extensive change that would require factory-jig equipment and tooling on a stripped-down frame. Certainly an effort that would be labor intensive and cost prohibitive. The dealers don't even discuss an option for such mods.
