Thanks.

More stupid questions:

1) Do things like keys, loose tools, cell phone, etc. clang around in there and make lots of annoying noise when you ride?

2) The hinge on the chrome toolbox is on the bottom, isn't it? I can't imagine the hinge being on the top, and having everything spill on the ground whenever you open the box.

3) Are the HD chrome toolboxes the same dimensions as the HD leather toolboxes/pouches?

4) I have a 2007 FXSTC. Does anyone know if the the HD chrome toolboxes with fit along side a pair of Leather Pros LP4000 series saddle bags (13" tall, 21 1/2" overall length)? These are the largest bags Leather Pros offers.

5) If they won't play nice with the Leather Pros bags, can the toolboxes or brackets be modded to make them fit?

Thanks

Some answers:
1) Yes, metal on metal will make a racket. I put my tools or whatnot inside a tube sock, and then roll it up on itself... self-adjusting and silent.

2) They hinge on the top, but there is a lip on the bottom that comes up almost to the lock cylinder.

Don't know the answers to your other questions.

Thanks again.

If the hinge is on top of the toolbox, doesn't you tube sock-full-o-tools fall on the ground every time you open the box?

No, the bottom lip is tall enough to prevent that.

Is it still necessary to use the HD foot peg spacers when rotating the peg mounts 90 degrees?
Thanks

When you do this without using the spacer, does the foot peg stick out far enough for the passenger to be comfortable?
Thanks

Good post Dude. I can't show pics cause I don't have them yet but they are on order. I am getting one for each side being the chrome ***** that I am!! I intend on spraying some glue on the inside of both of them then laying some felt down in them for some cushion and a noise barrier. I plan on tools in one side and "stuff" in the other one, ie glass's, lock and whatnot! Thanks to all who posted pics for this Dude cause it was cool seeing so many examples now that I have them comming as well.

I have one fitted to my 2009 FB, I keep tools and a cable lock in mine, its quite handy and I've found you can keep quite a lot in it, it's lockabe with any HD key, and your dealer will alter the lock so only your key will open it ( small fee of course for the service) . Ive found its also waterproof, well mine is, which is a good plus in my books.

My brother in law just got a 12' Heritage and wants to do the chrome tool box thing but the dealer told him they don't fit? I searched for a while here to see if anyone has made mention of mounting either the right or left side boxes on a 12' but didn't see anything.

Is the dealer right?
