Default Odometer button stuck...

Went out to the garage yesterday and I noticed the light on my odometer/trip meter was on and the mileage was showing. I had checked themileage the night before, so I guess it stayed on all night. The ignition was off, so I turned it on and off and the light went out. I pushed the button several times with the ignition off and it operated correctly (stayed on about 5-10 seconds and went out). Maybe the switch just stuck, I had washed the bike the day before. Anyway, I hooked up the battery tender and in about 45 minutes it was back to full charge and life is good. Bike fired right up.

Anyone else had their odometer button stick or do this?

Tried both of mine. Lite went off after 5 secs on both for what it's worth.

Hey Warg,

Your bike ride any different with wire wheels over the solid wheels. I'm asking becuase I wonder of the solid wheels can cause a "gyro effect" due to weight.

Thanks, Probably just stuck. No biggie. I will just have to make sure it clicks off in the future.

The wire wheels feel normal b/c I have never had anything else.

I think the reason that you are not getting any responses, is that the odometer button sticking is not a common problem.

+1

I've never experienced this problem on my Fatty. If it does occur again, maybe a quick squirt of good ole WD-40 will solve the problem. (??) Just an idea.

Well I have pushed the button 20 or 30 times and it works correctly everytime but once, so I'm not really worrying about it. If it starts to happen frequently I will repace the switch. Shouldn't be too hard.
