Internal wiring: HELP!
Howdy all.
I have an 07 springer. I just bought wild1 beach bars and am running the wiring internally.
However, how in the heck did you figure out how to run the turn signal on the left side in the bar? I mean, there is no way because the clutch perch must sit flush with the signal housing, which is where the hole in the bar is for the wiring. Unless i'm missing something, I can't figure out that piece. I ran the throttle side through no problem, but this side has got me stumped. Anyone with a pic or advice?
thanks!

Hey Deek,
I have the same bike, for a temp solution I ran the signal cable out between the switch housing and clutch perch. I ordered Kuryakyn mirror/signal and chrome switch housing so was waiting on them. Anyways, so I just flattened the cable out the switch housing and put the clutch perch as close as possible. There is a small gap (1/16" or so) between the two, you wouldnt notice it unless you got real close. It will be all gone once I get the new signals and housings.
Have you thought of relocating them to the front forks also? Im sure you have, but its an option.

thanks for the reply jss.
Yeah, I saw the only solution you saw. I ended up 86'ng the signals from the bars altogether. These wide wild1 beach bars look better w/out the signals anyway. I was looking on jp cycles and saw those signal brackets for the fork that puts them next to the headlight. I'm going to order those and go that way. If only wild1 put a dimple on the bar there, it would have allowed for it, but it sortta all worked anyway. Now, I just realized I have to drop my right side exhaust to get the clutch cover off to get the new cable -- damn.
later.

If you crimp it, you WILL eventually have a problem...
You can safely ground a portion of the clamp with a dremmel, and create just enough room for the wire to pass safely without compromising the integrity of the clamp.

If you're not comfortable using a dremel on your controls, you can drill a 3/8" hole in the underneath side of the bar and feed the wires through it. You can pick upa rubber grommet from your local hardware store to line the hole. I had my signals ran this way when I was running Street Slammers.
