V and H straight shot slip ons
I saw a guy on E bay offering these new for just $218 with baffles and fittings. Is that a good deal and are these good slip-ons? I don't want to go to loud.
I am worried these will look too thin on the bike with the stock headers. any comments appreciated.

I have the V&H slip ons on my Rocker now while I decide what type of pipe I want. I'll try to attach a picture... I don't know what your idea of loud is but you will get noticed when you get on the throttle. But the Straight shots have a sweet sound. For incognito cruising, I just upshift to the next higher gear and lugg it till I get past the cops or the neighborhood I don't want to annoy. Good luck on your slip on decision.

They are pretty loud, with a deeper sound than I expected, but they look and sound exactly like I was hoping for. Will be a long time before I change to anything else, especially for the money.

I honestly don't believe it's necessary to retune for any slipons, and probably a lot of complete exhaust systems. It seems there generally isn't much power gain from exhaust swaps either, which pretty much backs that up. I am a believer in the IEDs though.

Thanks guys. Sunce the V and H is so loud, I decided to got for SEII which i sampled on my friend's new deluxe. They sound plenty fine for me. I had V&H Sjortshots on my Street Bob before and I'd go to sleep at night ringing in my ears. Haering is too important for me.... "what did you say officer?"

I'd agree with you on the shortshots, but the slipons are a different ballgame. All the noise is behind me, and the tone isn't as hard on the eardrums. |I honestly expected them to bother me a bit, but was pleasantly surprised. Just my 2cents.
