Can I make it quieter?
The original baffles are very long, you would have to place the QB's quite deep into the pipes. There should be enough length of pipe to do it though, give it a try! Welding them together is a good idea, the original mounting hole will be used instead of drilling into the pipes to mount the QB's, provided they both slide through the pipes without forceing them? The QB's can be mounted in the original hole the stock baffles were mounted, I did not try this Big City suggests this hampers the sound and performance (3 inches minimum for mounting)?
I also thought of useing wrap, I never did but wish I would have tried this! If you use the good stuff from Summit or Jegs etc. This would possibly be the least expensive and the quieter method? I do not like the V&H raspy tone so I tried to eliminate that also.
Give your ideas a try, you will find all three of these will be quieter than the stock baffles with better tone, Good Luck! Its great to see someone else who still shows respect to others and their surroundings, not to common anymore!
