My chrome forks came with a set of reflectors that I could put on if I wanted. I thought about them for ohh...about half a second and in the trash they went.

My question was not related so much to aftermarket add-ons and appearance but to factory OEM equipment and whether or not the reflectors are considered safety equipment WRT insurance companies and payouts. But, thanks for chiming-in.

Are you kiddin me...Dude, if you worried about some reflectors, dont leave the house. Theres a lot worse out there that'll get you wrapped up...With that said, yank those things off!
